MUSIC MINISTRY
Music is a language that communicates the joy and hope of Christian life. St. Augustine said, “Singing is praying twice.” We encourage you to share your musical ability, no matter how great or small, so that, combined with God’s Holy Spirit, music can become a powerful experience in worship.
Music Ministry Mission Statement:
It is our hope that the Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified through liturgy and music at Our Lady of Victory Church. We pray that those called by God to participate in the music program will be instruments of the Holy Spirit and will humbly share their gifts and their talents on a volunteer basis.
Cantor/Psalmist:
The Cantor is the leader of song at Mass when a choir is not present. The Cantor/Psalmist proclaims the Responsorial Psalm and the Gospel Acclamation. The Cantor must be a member of the Choir. Reading music is encouraged. The Cantor/Psalmist rehearses with the Adult Choir.
Children’s Choir:
Children in grades 2nd through 6th are invited to participate in the Youth Choir here at Our lady of Victory. The Youth Choir sings at the early Christmas Eve Mass and on the 1st Sunday of each month.
Christmas Choir/Easter Choir:
This choir is a seasonal choir. These choirs are opened to singers with limited time but desire the gratification of enriching the Liturgy for the Holy Seasons of Christmas and Easter.
For Christmas, this choir sings at the late Christmas Eve Mass.
For Easter, this choir sings Holy Week, Easter Vigil, and Easter Masses.

Instrumentalists that play any string, brass, woodwind, or flute instruments are encouraged to volunteer their talents with the parish.Rehearsal Schedule:
Children’s Choir – Thursdays 4:30pm to 5:15 pm in Church
Adult Choir – Thursdays 7:00pm in the Church
Christmas Choir – Thursdays 7:00pm in the Church starting 2nd Thursday in November
Easter Choir –
